How much would it cost Malaysian Airlines if it had diverted the flight MH17, just like how South Korea’s Korean Air and Asiana, as well as Australia’s Qantas have been doing since March this year? Apparently, based on a former flight planner’s calculation, it would cost additional US$66 (£48.70, RM209.60) per paying passenger for the extra 45 minutes journey.

 

The above figure was derived from the direct operating cost of a Boeing 777-220ER which was estimated at US$25,000 an hour. Hence the additional 45-minutes journey on a safer route would cost an extra US$18,750. But Malaysian Airlines was as good as half-dead financially after the missing MH370 crisis, thus it wasn’t possible for the airline to put passengers’ safety above any risk. So, good luck to those who’re determine to continue supporting Malaysian Airlines.

So far, not only the disgusting and sicko pro-Russian rebels looted the deads’ belonging such as money, credit card, jewelry, gadgets and whatnot, they also didn’t have much respect for the corpses. Knowing how the immediate family members are desperate for the return of the corpses for a proper burial, the rebels snatched and transported them away as part of their bargaining chips.

 

Aren’t they barbarian? Of course they are, but who actually made them such a monster? You may not like this but in reality, nobody in the European Union nor the mighty United States really care about the downed Boeing 777, if the reactions and actions of these countries’ leaders are of any indicator. President Obama casually said in Wilmington, Delaware that “it looks like it may be a terrible tragedy,” but not before enthusiastically declaring that “it is wonderful to be back in Delaware.”

And what did Obama administration do after Russian President Vladimir Putin announce the annexation of Crimea? Virtually nothing except for some kindergarten criticisms every now and then; with some lame travel and trade sanctions thrown in, to which Moscow laughed off as merely a mosquito bite. Do you really think Putin would dare to steal away Crimea and shoot down a Boeing 777 plane in broad daylight, if Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher are still around?

 

The fact that Vladimir Putin successfully establish a new bank – BRICS Development Bank – with capital of US$100 billion together with Brazil, India, China, South Africa, goes to show how brilliant Putin was in creating an alternative group and eliminate western dominance. BRICS represents 42% of the world’s population and roughly 20% of the world’s economy based on GDP, not to mention total trade between these countries are actually US$6.14 trillion, or nearly 17% of the world’s total.

Yes, the reason why Russian President Vladimir Putin becomes such a ruthless and brutal leader today was the results of the western countries, namely America and European Union, that endlessly chose to close one-eye because of economic benefits. Before Putin’s stunt in annexing Crimea, Russia’s largest key trading partner was the European Union which constituted more than 52% of 2013’s trades.

 

Surprisingly, the country which was the biggest trading partner of Russia is the same country that its citizens lost the most lives in the Flight MH17 shot down incident – Netherlands. Is this the reason why Netherlands prime minister Mark Rutte seems to be quite silent even though 192 of his people lost their lives? Considering Holland had a huge chunk of 10% of Russia’s US$844.2 billion trade figure in 2013, it’s not that hard to understand why the deafening silence.

What about Germany, the second Russia’s biggest trading partner with 8.91% in 2013? Historically, after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Germany was the first country to recognize Russia as the Soviet Union’s legal successor. There’re more than 6,000 enterprises with German capitals operate in Russia, while 600 enterprises with Russian capitals have been registered in Germany. With trade turnover expected to hit US$100 billion between Germany-Russia, Vladimir Putin and Angela Merkel are just like brother and sister.

 

Italy, Japan, United States, Turkey, Kazakhstan, South Korean and of course, China have equally huge chunks of investment projects and trade figures with Russia. France also doesn’t care as long as it gets paid for two Mistral helicopter carriers to Russia, which is under construction. And do we need to start talking about UK’s David Cameron who is as wet lettuce as President Obama? Didn’t we say before: money talks and bullshit walks?

Fortunately, there’s one hero, or rather heroine. When the whole world doesn’t seemed to be able to tell bad boy Vladimir Putin to do the right thing about the Malaysian Boeing 777, Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak’s wife – Rosmah Mansor – was reportedly sent word to the Russian president to take the initiative to call her beloved husband – Najib. Much to everyone’s delight, Putin called Najib thereafter. Who says women are not influential (*grin*)?

 

Now, before you laugh till you dropped from 33,000 feet into Ukraine warzone, it’s not hard to understand how a single lovely woman could do a simple job that many other self proclaimed macho world leaders couldn’t. PM Najib’s daughter, Nooryana Najwa was engaged to Daniyar Nazarbayev, whose stepfather Bolat Nazarbayez is the brother to Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev. And Kazakhstan is one of Russia’s key trading partner.

There was news that Daniyar Nazarbayev and his mother Maira Nazarbayev have links to the Russian mafia. Of course, all these were pure naughty allegations. Even if it’s true, so what? Wasn’t Vladimir Putin also linked to the local mafia? China’s Deng Xiaoping once said – It doesn’t matter whether a cat is white or black, as long as it catches mice. So, in this context, it doesn’t matter if it was Rosmah or Obama, as long as he/she can bring back the corpses.

 

Who knows – perhaps Auntie Rosy could influence Putin’s new wife, former Olympic gymnast  Alina Kabayeva into locking the Russian President out of bedroom, if the leader doesn’t call PM Najib and return the corpses (tongue-in-cheek*). Is that the reason why Malaysian prime minister confidently and bravely declared that he wants Malaysian citizens killed in the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 back home by Hari Raya, which is expected to fall on July 28? But he didn’t mention anything about other nationalities’ corpses, did he?
