Now do you understand why the Malaysian Chinese were foaming at the mouth when Prime Minister Najib Razak conspired with PAS (Malaysian Islamic Party) President Hadi Awang to introduce ancient Islamic law otherwise known as the “Hudud Law” last year? There were compelling reasons why the Chinese opposed the law which was supposed to have nothing to do with them.
Ignorant ethic-Malay-Muslims thought the ethnic-Chinese had nothing better to do and deliberately challenged and insulted the hudud law by opposing it. Why the Chinese even care if the Malaysian Muslims so eager to chop off their legs or hands or whatever is left to be chopped? After all, the hudud law is applicable to Muslims, not non-Muslims, right?
Heck, the Chinese would probably happily bring along popcorn and Coke to watch how Muslims are being stoned to death. Chinese who opposes the brutality of such ancient law was immediately condemned as anti-Islam. Actually the Chinese don’t give two hoots about hudud law if the Islam fanatics keep their ancient and extreme belief to themselves.
However, Najib administration – ruling Barisan Nasional coalition – is notorious for saying one thing but doing the opposite. When they promised that hudud law was only for Muslims, you can bet your entire fortune that sooner rather than later, the same law would be (forcefully) applied on non-Muslims. Only a fool believes a crook Najib will hold up his end of the bargain.
On Monday, an annual beer festival was scrapped by Malaysian authorities after the same Islamic party PAS to whom Mr. Najib conspired on the hudud law objected to the 2-day event. The reason for the objection was that the beer festival could lead to criminal acts, rape and free sex. Interestingly, there hasn’t been a single of such improper sexual case since the festival started 5 years ago.
Around 6,000 people had been expected to attend the “Better Beer Festival”, showcasing craft beers from at least 11 countries, according to posts on social media site Facebook by the organisers and domestic news reports. Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has issued an official statement confirming that it has rejected the application to hold the event.
It is supposed to take place on Oct 6 and 7 at Publika Shopping Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, and feature 250 different craft beers from 43 breweries worldwide, with craft breweries from Scotland, Australia, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam sending representatives. Last year’s beer festival was held at the same place, which attracted 3,500 craft beer lovers.
Apparently, PAS central committee member Riduan Mohd Nor spoke out against the event, calling it a “pesta maksiat” (vice party) and claiming that it would turn Kuala Lumpur into the “largest vice centre in Asia”. A weak Najib administration, attempting to suck up to the extreme and radical Islamic political party, agreed to pull the plug on the beer festival.
Here’s the fun part. The Barisan Nasional and PAS had argued that the hudud law is only applicable to Muslims; therefore, non-Muslims are not affected so they should mind their own business. Using the same argument, the beer festival is only applicable to non-Muslims, therefore, Muslims are not invited so they should mind their own business and go fly kite.
Why are the Muslims so busybody and interfere with the very little entertainment left of the non-Muslims? Even if the event would turn into a vice party, it’s none of Muslims’ problem. Were the PAS Muslims jealous that they couldn’t participate the “pesta maksiat” hence the next best thing to do was to disrupt the party? Anyway, why should Muslims care about non-Muslims’ orgy party?
Whether non-Muslims want beer festival or beer bath or beer orgy, it has nothing to do with Muslims. If the PAS Muslims are so concerned about sex after beer, obviously they have underestimated the non-Muslims. There’re more cases of Muslims indulge in sex and incestuous relationships with eyes wide open than drunk non-Muslims bonking another beer partner.
Try asking “Holy Man” Hadi Awang why the state of Kelantan is infested with Muslim sex maniacs. A state under PAS government, Kelantan has consistently recorded the highest number of cases for AIDS in Malaysia since 2008, despite the local authorities enforcing pseudo hudud codes through its by-laws which govern attire, gender segregation.
The fact remains that despite Kelantan’s strict adherence to Islam, the state has become “a sex and AIDS city”, as compared to Penang, a state governed by Chinese who loves beer. Don’t be an idiot. If a beer festival would turn Kuala Lumpur into the “largest vice centre in Asia”, China would have had became the world’s largest vice kingdom ages ago.
But PAS isn’t the only Muslims here who are trying very hard to prove that hudud and Islam are all about sex. Back in April, Mr. Shabudin Yahaya, a Malaysian MP of the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition, believes that there is “nothing wrong” with child marriages. In fact, he thinks marriages between rapists and their victims was a jolly good solution to rapes.
Suddenly, the police have found a new justification for calling off the beer festival. According to newly crowned Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohamad Fuzi Harun, the festival was disallowed because the police received information that militants and some unknown group plan to disturb the event. That’s a truckload of bullshit.
Even if it’s true that the fearsome ISIS militants are in town on a suicide mission targeting the beer festival, which is fabulously ridiculous, isn’t it the duty of the police to go hunt down the terrorists, or at least offer some form of protection to the partygoers? As a former Special Branch Chief Director, has Mr. IGP Fuzi forgotten how to fight terrorists or militants?
So far, ISIS terrorists have not known for blowing up people at a beer festival. That’s because they too love beer and sex. Hasna Aitboulahcen, whose fame shot through the roof as the first Europe’s female suicide bomber, was exposed as a Muslim who loved alcohol, cigarettes, drugs and sex, the same way her cousin Abdelhamid Abaaoud was – the mastermind of the bloody 2015 Paris terrorism.
The saddest part was when MCA president Liow Tiong Lai agreed with a Cabinet decision to cancel the beer festival, when he should at least protect the Chinese right for a pint or two. Of course, the axing of beer festival this year has nothing to do with sex or terrorism. It’s all about politics – the survival of Najib Razak who was caught with his pants down stealing billions of US dollars.
With the next 14th general election around the corner, which will have to happen on or before 24 August 2018, both Najib Razak and his buddy Hadi Awang are trying to show the Malay-Muslims, who are currently very furious with skyrocketing cost of living, that they’re the protector of Muslims and Islam. And they’ve proven that by suppressing and oppressing the Chinese.
But here’s the biggest issue. As Najib’s Barisan Nasional continues to steal and plunder the nation while Hadi’s PAS continues its Islamic extremism and radicalization to justify their existence, non-Muslims especially the Chinese will continue to be oppressed and suppressed. If they could be denied beer today, they could be denied pork tomorrow and vernacular schools the day after tomorrow.
Forget beer festival. If the trends continue, there would come a day where the Chinese will lose other traditional festivals as well such as the Mid-Autumn, Qingming, Winter Solstice and even the Chinese Lunar New Year. Lion and dragon dances could be banned. Already, the radical Muslims have banned Halloween and asked Christmas not be respected – all in the name of Islam.
