Exactly how many grand coalitions the dubious “Malay-Muslim” government consisting of UMNO, Bersatu (PPBM) and PAS wanted to create? It appears that in spite of having cornered 90% of Malay-Muslim voters, the Perikatan Nasional backdoor regime still has no confidence of winning the next 15th General Election – a strange phenomenon indeed.

The corrupt and racist United Malays National Organization (UMNO) is already the leader of Barisan Nasional (National Front) coalition. After losing the May 2018 General Election, UMNO formed a national coalition with long-time political enemy PAS (Parti Islam Se-Malaysia or Malaysian Islamic Party) – glorified as “Muafakat Nasional (National Concord)” under the pretext of Malay-unity.

Subsequently, Muhyiddin Yassin led his Bersatu or PPBM (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia or Malaysian United Indigenous Party) to betray his own multi-racial Pakatan Harapan government, plotting a coup with UMNO and PAS to form a “Malay-Muslim” Perikatan Nasional coalition government in March 2020. Bersatu officially joined Muafakat in August this year.

So, there are already three grand coalitions in existence from three biggest Malay-Muslim political parties in the country – Barisan Nasional, Muafakat Nasional and Perikatan Nasional. The term “Nasional” itself already means they are of national or nationwide level. Is there a need to create another grand coalition on top of the current “grand national coalitions”?

Of all the 222 parliamentary seats in the country, 119 are regarded Malay-majority. In theory, the coalitions of Bersatu-UMNO-PAS can easily win all the 119 seats and form a simple majority government – even without a single Chinese or Hindu vote in the next election. As its supporters like to brag – all the Chinese or Hindus can go to hell, as far as the Malay-Muslim government is concerned.

Hence, why did UMNO warlord and Barisan Nasional secretary-general Annuar Musa suddenly moot the idea of another “grand coalition” to unite the “Ummah” (an Arabic word meaning “community”)? Hilariously, despite trumpeting the magic word “Ummah”, he encourages non-Malay-Muslim parties like IPF (Indian Progressive Front), Makkal, PCM (Parti Cinta Malaysia) to join.

UMNO Warlord Annuar Musa

At the same time, Annuar Musa, who is Minister of Federal Territories under Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, also invited rivals Sabah-based Warisan, Mahathir-led Pejuang and Muda to join. The wishful thinking is to establish a new grand coalition consisting of more than 10 parties. Exactly why can’t they just merge Bersatu, UMNO and PAS and save the people the agony of more confusion?

You don’t need a rocket scientist to tell that Annuar Musa was sent by his big boss PM Muhyiddin to test the water about the idea of forming a “new version” of Barisan Nasional to compete against Pakatan Harapan in the next general election. Despite screaming and bitching about Malay unity, none of UMNO, Bersatu or PAS is willing to merge for the sake of Muslim or Islam.

Instead, all the three selfish and corrupt Malay-Muslim political parties are forced to sleep together in the same bed because of power and positions, not to mention perks and projects thrown in. The fake Malay-Muslim champions cannot and will not merge for obvious reason. If they merge, there won’t be four Senior Minister positions to be shared among themselves, would there?

Perikatan Nasional - Hadi Awang, Muhyiddin Yassin and Zahid Hamidi

Likewise, there would not be a bloated 72 ministers and deputy ministers for the parasitic Malay-Muslim leaders of UMNO-Bersatu-PAS to suck on. The fact that Annuar Musa, whose loyalty to his own UMNO party has been questioned, has invited non-Muslim to join the new coalition suggests that backdoor PM Muhyiddin wants to revive the business model of Barisan Nasional.

It’s worth noting that before its defeat in 2018, Barisan Nasional, a coalition founded in 1973 and comprised up to 14 political parties, had been very successful in dominating not only Malaysian politics for decades, but also in bullying and oppressing the minorities Chinese and Hindus. For as long as one can remember, the minorities were treated as second-class citizens.

To maintain Malay support, Barisan’s secret recipe is “Ketuanan Melayu”, the ideology of Malay supremacy espoused by the corrupt and racist UMNO. To do that, however, the Chinese and Hindus must become the punching bags whenever UMNO-Malay politicians (which now included PAS extremists) wanted to rally ignorant Malays behind them.

The racist regime also realized that the concept of a Malay-Muslim government established since March this year has spooked both local and foreign investors. The Covid-19 pandemic only makes matters worse. An increase number of pirates on a pirate ship can only plunder so much if the economic cake keeps shrinking. That’s the only reason errand-boy Annuar invited more non-Muslim parties to join.

Until UMNO lost its power two years ago for the first time in 61 years since independence in 1957, the party was the backbone of Barisan Nasional and the dominant force of the federal government. Now, the coalition is reduced to only 3 political parties – UMNO (39 MPs) along with Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA: 2 MPs) and Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC: 1 MP).

But who will lead the so-called new Grand Coalition or Barisan Nasional 2.0 proposed by Annuar Musa? The answer can be found from a survey report by Emir Research which, coincidentally, was revealed within 24 hours of Mr Annuar’s suggestion. According to the jaw-dropping report, UMNO was found to be the most popular and best party with a 42.8% approval rating.

UMNO Raising Flag As First Time Opposition

Interestingly, while traitor Muhyiddin Yassin received 65% support and tops the chart as the preferred prime minister, his own party PPBM (Bersatu) is the least popular at only 8.5%, worse than radical and extreme PAS Islamist party (15.5%). Heck, even Mahathir Mohamad, a twice prime minister, received only 10% support while PM-in-waiting Anwar Ibrahim grabbed 8%.

Well, if the survey was true and Muhyiddin’s popularity had remained little changed from the date the poll was done in August until today, the backdoor prime minister did not have to rush to the emergency door last month, desperately trying to convince the Agong (King) to declare an emergency rule and conferred him the “special emergency power” to rule like Adolf Hitler.

However, the most shocking result from the half-baked survey isn’t about Muhyiddin’s unbelievable huge popularity, where up to half of ethnic Chinese were charmed by him. The most shocking discovery was that UMNO received more than 40% approval rating from ethnic Chinese – more than Democratic Action Party (DAP) who had gotten only 17% support.

Seriously? Emir Research must have forgotten that it was the Chinese community’s disgust of UMNO’s racism, corruption, bullying and oppression that up to 95% of them voted for DAP in the 2018 General Election. The fake survey suggested that despite UMNO’s constant threat of closing down Chinese vernacular SJKC schools, the community was dumb enough to dump DAP in favour of UMNO.

Unless the ethnic Chinese had gone terribly mad, they would not touch UMNO with a 10-foot pole. The party has become even more racist and extreme since their cooperation with radicals from PAS. Even if the community was angry with DAP during the short 22 months in power, it did not mean they would vote for UMNO. At worst, they would rather stay home and won’t vote for anyone at all.

It’s both impossible and comical to suggest that DAP’s support among the Chinese voters had dramatically dropped from 95% to merely 17%, while UMNO’s 5% skyrocketed to above 40%. To get an idea how ridiculous this is, imagine if another survey says DAP’s support among Malays has shot to 40%, while UMNO’s popularity has dropped from 95% to just 17%.

DAP - A Campaign at Night

Perhaps Emir Research had used the 2019 Tanjung Piai by-election result to paint a rosy picture for UMNO. MCA, a component party of Barisan Nasional, won the by-election by a landslide majority of 15,086 votes. However, it was a one-off victory as the ethnic Chinese deliberately punished former PM Mahathir for playing Khat Jawi, Zakir Naik and dozens other racial and religious extremist issues.

Suspiciously, the idea of a new grand coalition and the survey results suggest a hidden agenda, most likely cooked up by Muhyiddin’s blue-eyed boy Azmin Ali, to create a fake perception that a forever-popular Muhyiddin must lead a forever-popular UMNO in a new vehicle that resembles the old glory days of Barisan Nasional coalition in order to win the next election.

Of course, that would mean former PM Najib Razak and UMNO President Zahid Hamidi can be expected to be sent to prison. The leaderless UMNO and rootless Bersatu could be merged to re-create a powerful UMNO with Muhyiddin “crowned” as its president. With most of UMNO warlords happily bribed with ministers, deputy ministers and chairmanships, very few will complain.

UMNO - Muhyddin Yassin and Najib Razak

But the very fact that President and CEO of EMIR Research – Rais Hussin – is a supreme council member of Bersatu who was recently appointed by PM Muhyiddin as new chairman of MDEC (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation) speaks volumes about the lack of integrity and trustworthiness of the survey. Make no mistake. A new grand coalition is nothing but to resume corruption at an industrial scale.
