All hell breaks loose when President Donald Trump announced the United States is withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement, one of former President Barack Obama’s remaining legacies. Almost immediately, Obama slams Trump, arguing that it is America’s loss, not other nations, for pulling out of the agreement.
Mr. Trump’s decision to abandon the landmark 2015 global agreement signed by 195 nations to fight climate change means the superpower U.S. is joining Syria and Nicaragua as the only non-participants in the accord. Naturally, Trump’s stunning decision has upset and angered every single liberal and globalist living on planet Earth.
Hollywood celebrities, Democrats, climate activists, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Apple’s Tim Cook, JPMorgan Chase’s Jamie Dimon, Goldman Sachs’ Lloyd Blankfein, Tesla and SpaceX’s Elon Musk, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni were some who condemned Trump’s so-called “reckless decision”.
Not even his darling daughter, Ivanka Trump, could convince the commander-in-chief otherwise. Now, governors of three major states – New York, California and Washington – are conspiring to form a “climate alliance” to work toward upholding the Paris accord, as if they are independent nations just broke away from the United States of America.
President Trump argues that the agreement imposed extremely unfair environmental standards on American businesses and workers. He vowed to stand with the people of the United States against what he called a “draconian” international deal. He courageously went against heads of state, climate activists, corporate executives and even members of his own administration.
Besides daughter Ivanka, Trump’s top aides, including Gary D. Cohn (Director of the National Economic Council) and Rex Tillerson (Secretary of State), had tried but failed to convince the president not to withdraw. The decision was a victory for Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s chief strategist, and Scott Pruitt, the Environmental Protection Agency administrator.
Make not mistake about it. All the above people who had wanted President Trump to stay committed to the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement are liberals and globalists who had joked and made fun of Donald Trump once upon a time. Receiving calls, visits, meetings and all sorts of persuasion and sweet-talk from them to stay had been one of the most satisfying moments for Trump.
One has to understand that Trump is a vengeful person. He would not be where he is today if not for the then President Barack Obama who publicly ridiculed, insulted and humiliated him in front of journalists, politicians and power-brokers at a “White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner” at Washington in April 2011.
There’s only one compelling reason he pulls America out of the climate deal – to piss off the left. With a stone, badass Trump has essentially killed Obama’s legacy, screwed the liberal Democrats, frustrated the globalist corporate chiefs and angered the pretender EU elites. Trump is basically giving his middle finger to all his critics, and there’s nothing they could do about it (*grin*).
But did Trump make the correct decision by pulling out of the climate agreement? The liberals, globalists and activists are foaming at the mouth as if climate apocalypse is around the corner with America quitting the pact. The ClimateGate scandal proved that key-data used in promoting the concept of man-made climate was manipulated or cooked.
Under pressure in 2007, NASA recalculated its data and found that 1934, not 1998, was the hottest year in its records for the contiguous 48 states. NASA later changed that data again, and now 1998 and 2006 are tied for first, with 1934 slightly cooler. After being sued, NASA admitted that their exposed emails were correct – that the agency’s climate data were changed.
Why the liberals or the left are are so obsessed with climate change? That’s because climate change itself is a damn lucrative business. From 1989-2009 alone, more than US$32.5 billion of federal government grants were allocated for climate change research, excluding US$79 billion spent for related climate change technology research, foreign aid and tax breaks for “green energy.”
In fact, the myth that the planet is getting warmer was busted in September 2016 when data from the Danish Meteorological Institute shows that the Arctic Sea ice extent was one of the highest in the last decade. But a climate change believer will always be a believer, no matter how ridiculous a story sounds. Take for example an interview with Obama in 2015.
During the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Paris, then-President Barack Obama, the man who was worshipped across the world, tried to co-relate climate change with ISIS terrorism. The climate change guru declared that global warming will put people in desperate straits, which in turned will make people do desperate things like terrorism.
Almost immediately after news flashes confirming Trump is backing out of the Paris Climate Agreement, crude oil drops like a rock. Now, do you understand why U.S. energy giants Exxon Mobil and Chevron and their European peers Royal Dutch Shell and BP wanted Trump to stay? It will see a United States that is about to go crazy in terms of producing fossil fuels.
However, while everyone was condemning and cursing President Trump, they have missed out an important announcement. While he said that the U.S. will withdraw from the landmark Paris climate agreement, Trump also said he would start talks to re-enter the accord with what he called a more “fair” deal. So, Trump isn’t totally out of the climate deal.
As usual, Trump was trolling the left, and he absolutely enjoyed it very much. But the stupid German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni were too panicked to realize that. Without much consideration, the EU elites declare the Paris Climate Agreement cannot be re-negotiated. That’s fine.
The notorious Trump isn’t stupid. Only 9% of Republicans share the belief that the planet is warming. His brilliant chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon had done all the calculations and analysis before advising the U.S. president to dump the deal. Dumping the deal will not jeopardise Trump’s re-election chance in 2020, coincidently the same year the withdrawal can take effect.
Trump also argued the Paris Agreement would cost the United States 2.7 million jobs by 2025 and shave trillions from the U.S. economy, citing the numbers generated by NERA Economic Consulting. More importantly, the agreement could cost the U.S. economy “nearly US$3 trillion over the next several decades.” These are the selling points for Trump to get re-elected.

Woah…acting out of pique…just for the satisfaction of revenge ! Would a less petty, more self-controlled leader be rushing to cut his nose to spite his face ? But then, not surprising behaviour yet again from Trump…judging from his erratic foaming-at-the-mouth actions so far. What did he accused China of just months ago…that climate change is a hoax invented by the Chinese ? ( of course, being the flip flop that he is, he now changes tune and swallowed back what he had accused China of, including being a champion currency manipulator).
Truly myopic with this withdrawal, creating a leadership vacuum which will soon be quickly filled by another country to take the lead. Even if he relents later and try to worm his way back, it will be too late to resume its leadership role. We call it ‘padan muka’, hahaha.
