A total of 5,270 Yazidis women and girls were abducted last year, and at least 3,144 are still being held. Amazingly, the Islamic State has developed a detailed bureaucracy of sex slavery, including sales contracts endorsed by ISIS-run Islamic courts. It has become a very effective tool to lure men from Muslim societies around the world, including Malaysia.

It seems ISIS has developed its own version of Islam, with sex and slavery being a central part of its religious doctrine. Members are told the Quran “condones and encourages” attacking women if they are not Muslims. Hence, women have been systematically raped simply because slavery is now part of Islamic State’s institution.

 

In a chilling and unbelievable exposure to the New York Times, a 12-year-old girl rape victim told how her attacker insisted that what he was doing was not sinful – because she practiced a religion other than Islam. After the IS fighter had done his explanation, he bound her hands and gagged her. Then he knelt beside the bed and prostrated himself in prayer before getting on top of her.

When it was over, he knelt to pray again, as if to thank Allah. The girl, whose body is so small as compared to the IS fighter, said “I kept telling him it hurts – please stop,” She continued “He told me that according to Islam he is allowed to rape an unbeliever. He said that by raping me, he is drawing closer to God.”

 

Sex slavery is so important to the Islamic State infrastructure that they have a network of warehouses where the victims are held, viewing rooms where they are inspected and marketed, and a dedicated fleet of buses used to transport them. It was as if women and girls were commodities or livestock just like cows or goats.

Another 15-year-old girl who was sold to an IS fighter has this to say – “Every time that he came to rape me, he would pray … He kept telling me this is ibadah … He said that raping me is his prayer to God“. When the girl told him what he was doing to her was wrong and will not bring him closer to God, he said “No, it’s allowed. It’s halal.”

 

The girl has since escaped with the help of smugglers after being enslaved for nearly nine months. She, together with her mother and three sisters – 14, 7 and 4 years old – were captured by IS fighters, separated and transported in smaller groups to Syria or Iraq where they were bought and sold for sex.

Women and girls were referred to as “Sabaya,” followed by their name. Some were bought by wholesalers, who photographed and gave them numbers, to advertise them to potential buyers. Buildings where the women were collected and held sometimes included a viewing room. Such buildings are also known as “Sabaya Market” or slave market.

 

The captives were also forced to answer intimate questions, including reporting the exact date of their last menstrual cycle. The objective of asking such question was for the IS fighters to determine if they were pregnant. According to a Shariah rule, a man cannot have intercourse with his slave if she is pregnant.

The only opportunity for a victim to set herself free is when her “master” had finished his training as a suicide bomber and was planning to blow himself up. In such rare case, the victim would be set free. The victim would be given a “Certificate of Emancipation”, signed by the judge of the western province of the Islamic State, and must be produced at security checkpoints before leaving the hell.

 

Recently, the terror group’s Research and Fatwa Department has added a new 34-page manual – sex with Christian and Jewish women captured in battle is also permissible. As disgusting as it may sound, female slave who hasn’t reached puberty, hence child rape, is explicitly condoned.

There was also a case where a 12-year-old girl who was raped for days by a Saudi fighter despite heavy bleeding. Even after the fighter had literally destroyed and badly infected her body, the Saudi man continued the ritual of praying before and after raping the child. An older woman took pity of the situation and tried to help the girl.

The older woman told the fighter to give the child a break because she was just a little girl. He answered – “No. She’s not a little girl … She’s a slave … And she knows exactly how to have sex … And having sex with her pleases God“. So, the whole purpose of Islamic State is purely “SEX”. Now you know why so many Muslims join them. That’s because sex sells.
