Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng says that another major scandal involving the finance ministry will be revealed soon. Prime Minister Mahathir told The New York Times that his government had already accumulated “enough evidence” to have Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, put on trial. Najib urges political rivals to lay down their arms now that the general election was over.

What does above tell you? It tells you that PM Mahathir administration cannot drag its feet any longer. The crooks family of Najib and Rosmah have to be charged. It also tells you that Mr. Lim appears to be having fun trolling ex-PM Najib – exposing one scandal after another. But to hear Najib urging ceasefire is the best Hari Raya gift of all. The former Thief-in-Chief is panicking.

Sure, Mahathir had said that the people have to be patient as calls for the arrest of Najib grows everyday. From millionaires to taxi drivers, everybody has been wondering why hasn’t Najib been thrown into jail, or at least be charged and paraded. There could be mutiny among Pakatan Harapan supporters if the new government does not throw a bone or two to satisfy their hunger for blood.

Ex-Prime Minister Najib Razak - World Biggest Crook

Five days ago in Tokyo, Mahathir said – “It’s not so easy. We have to find evidence that will stand up in court. If the evidence is not strong and he is not found guilty by the court, then all the things we have done and said will be questioned by the people.” But are not there overwhelming evidences against Najib Razak? Even UMNO has stopped protecting 1MDB scandal.

Surprisingly on June 14, four days after Mahathir hinted that there was insufficient evidence; the 93-year-old man suddenly told The New York Times that his administration had “enough evidence” to charge his protégé Najib. Perhaps at his advanced age, the prime minister wanted to extend his last gratitude to Najib’s father – allowing his son his last festival of Eid al-Fitri.

However, the arrogant and defiant Najib, emboldened by what he perceived to be lack of evidence and authorities’ cowardice to charge him, has been provoking the government to do its best to take him down. He didn’t seem to understand that his mentor was trying not to humiliate his family name – the Razak – during the holy month of Ramadan.

Mahathir, a cunning fox, is well known for saying one thing but doing another at the back. So, while he pretended to be not having enough evidence, he was actually busy cleaning up the corrupted judiciary system. Thanks to the Agong (King), it took almost a month to fire Najib-appointed corrupt Attorney General Apandi Ali and replaced him with Tommy Thomas.

And it was only 3 days ago that the disgraced and “illegally-appointed” Chief Justice Md Raus Sharif and Court of Appeal president Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin tendered their resignation after being pressured to do so ever since their boss ex-PM Najib was unexpectedly defeated on May 9. Even then, both judges’ resignations will take effect on July 31.

Like ex-Attorney General Apandi Ali, Chief Justice Raus was brought in by Najib to shield him from prosecution. In February, a three-man bench led by Chief Justice Raus Sharif upheld a High Court decision that Najib could not be sued for abusing his office as prime minister as he was – amazingly – not a public officer, making Najib “invincible and untouchable”.

The Federal Court has fixed August 6 to hear Mahathir’s application – filed before the 14th general election – to review the ruling by the Federal Court which decided that the prime minister, cabinet ministers, the attorney-general, menteri besar (chief ministers), are not public servants. Only after cleaning up all the rules of jungle created by Najib will the real party start.

Does Najib really think he could simply tell the court that the US$681 million found in his personal bank account was “donation” without a shred of proof and expect the (new) judiciary to believe him? Does he really think he could get away by saying he had no knowledge that the RM42 million he received from SRC International Sdn Bhd was from 1MDB?

Yes, Najib is in the state of panic. Not only because his minions in the system – Attorney General Chambers, Chief Justice, Court Judges, MACC, Bank Negara (Central Bank), and whatnot – have either been fired, transferred or resigned, his partner-in-crime Jho Low is done being a fugitive and was ready to enrol himself in the so-called “witness protection” program.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Jho Low (fullname: Low Taek Jho) told his friends before Malaysia’s May 9th elections that he felt safe because former Prime Minister Najib Razak was protecting him. However, after Najib’s stunning defeat, especially after the issuance of a warrant for his arrest on June 7, the chubby Mr. Low has started panicking.

Jho Low reportedly reached out to Mahathir after his inauguration as the country’s 7th prime minister, expressing willingness to cooperate in the 1MDB scandal. He offers to drop his claim to more than US$1 billion in assets in return for immunity from criminal prosecution. Did Jho Low really think the 93-year-old Mahathir was senile and dumb or was born yesterday?

Both Najib and Jho Low had raped the country coffers dry, to the tune of tens, perhaps even hundreds, of billions of dollars. Now that he is being hunted down, Jho Low conveniently offered not to claim assets which did not belong to him in the first place and expect the new government to accept the deal? It was like a thief who had stolen from you but offered a portion of it back in exchange for freedom.

Najib Razak and Jho Low

However, according to Najib’s paid cybertroopers, propagandists and bloggers, Jho Low is to be given a prepared-script, as if it was a Hollywood blockbuster film that will implicate Najib in a conspiracy to steal 1MDB’s money. They argued that without Jho Low’s testimony or “information”, there is no way Najib can be prosecuted, let alone thrown into prison.

The pro-Najib bloggers also have a new amusing twist – claiming that Jho Low’s father, Larry Low Hock Peng, was actually Mahathir’s old crony. Don’t be surprise when they eventually reveal Jho Low robbed the country under Mahathir’s instruction in a grand plan to frame Najib. Clearly, the spin masters have gone mad and are still hopeful that Najib could make a comeback.

If indeed Jho Low was ready to switch side and read from a script to fabricate an implication against Najib, should not the cybertroopers, propagandists and bloggers keep quiet and let Mahathir government swallows the hook, line and sinker? Would it not be a better plan to expose the new government’s conspiracy during the trial so that whatever witness and evidence can be expunged?

Anyway, Jho Low’s deal was a bad deal from the beginning. If his deal is accepted, it will create a bigger problem. Najib can easily accuse Mahathir of conspiring with Jho Low to overthrow him. Heck, racial and religion cards may even be thrown into the ring, that the new government was willing to protect a Chinese and frame and prosecute a Malay-Muslim.

The fact is both Najib and Jho Low are in the state of panic. Najib knew his days are numbered hence using his last card – Aidilfitri – urging his rivals to forgive each other. Jho Low knew his days are numbered hence offering partial of his ill-gotten assets to buy his freedom. And both thought Mahathir would fall into the cheapskate traps.

There is no way Mahathir can allow either Najib or Jho Low to walk away scot free, even if he wanted to. The people will punish his administration in the next election. After all, it was Mahathir who told The New York Times – “All have been raped by the previous government. They have taken money. Now they have lost the money.” Do you think he will let the rapists free?
