Social media have been flooded with messages about the Anti-ICERD rally on Dec 8. Supporters of UMNO Malays nationalist party and the PAS Islamist party have been spreading invitations through WhatsApp messenger to everyone to join the wild party. The hidden agenda of the rally is, of course, to overthrow the democratic elected Pakatan Harapan government.
With nothing to lose but everything to gain, the organizer did not even care hiding their evil plan. On Nov 17, UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi openly threatened Mahathir government – the Malay-Muslim community will “run amok” to protest the Pakatan government’s pledge to ratify the “International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination” (ICERD).
Yes, the racist and corrupted Java-immigrant Zahid has issued a challenge to the 93-year-old premier – do your best, if you can, to stop UMNO and PAS from unleashing millions of Malay-Muslims on the street, rioting and killing. If the plan goes according to the script, the ethnic Chinese would most likely get the beatings. It would make the May 16, 1969’s bloody racial riots look like a child’s play.
The threat is real and the consequences will be fatal. Mr. Zahid has no choice but to make the Dec 8 his Waterloo against PM Mahathir. A failure to overthrow the government would mean the end of Zahid’s political career. However, a victory will not only grant him a free pass from spending the rest of his life in prison, it will also make him the next prime minister (at least that was what Zahid thought).
Actually, ICERD is nothing but a nice-to-have initiative. Members are supposed to commit to eliminate racial discrimination, not to mention outlaw hate speech and criminalize membership in a racist organization. It was like saying those who treasure their health are supposed to eliminate smoking. But nobody cares if you wish to continue smoking anyway and grill your lungs until it becomes charcoal.
As of January 2018, it has 88 signatories and 179 parties. The funniest thing is while UMNO and PAS Malay-Muslims were foaming at the mouth protesting ICERD, among the countries which had ratified ICERD include Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Algeria, Pakistan, Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco and even Indonesia – the country with the largest Muslim population.
In other words, either 99% of the 1.9-billion Muslims in the world – including the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques – were freaking dumb and retarded for consenting to the ICERD, or the 4-million UMNO and 2-million PAS Malay-Muslim supporters have been cheated and scammed by their respective leaders – Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (UMNO president) and Hadi Awang (PAS president).
So, the ICERD has nothing to do whatsoever with UMNO and PAS’ claims that the Malays, Muslims, Bumiputeras (son of the soil), Islam, Malay Rulers and whatnot would lose their rights or special privileges. Even if PM Mahathir ratifies the ICERD, the Article 153 of the Federal Constitution cannot be abolished simply because while Article 153 is supreme, ICERD is not.
Article 153 grants the “Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King)” the responsibility for safeguarding the special position of the Malays and natives of Sabah and Sarawak and the legitimate interests of other communities. Unless the Mahathir government commands a two-thirds majority, which they don’t, Article 153 cannot be amended to accommodate ICERD.
Even if Mahathir government possesses two-thirds majority, almost none of the Malay-Muslim MPs would willingly give away their special privileges. Even if all the Chinese or non-Muslim MPs vote to amend Article 153, they would not have the number to do so. Heck, the non-Muslim MPs don’t even command a simple majority, let alone two-thirds majority, to replace Article 153 with ICERD.
But it is perfectly normal for the racist Zahid Hamidi and the extremist Hadi Awang to incite violence and riots for political gains. After all, Zahid is facing a record of 45 charges related to money-laundering, criminal breach of trust (CBT) and bribes. Hadi, on the other hand, is still kicking himself for betting the wrong horse when he could be part of the government, had he remained loyal to the now-defunct Pakatan Rakyat coalition.
What is not normal was for Mahathir to chicken out at the sight of Zahid Hamidi and Hadi Awang mobilising their walking zombies to demonstrate on Dec 8. It was a humiliation that the highly respected premier was forced to backpedal after he proudly spoke in September at the UN General Assembly, where he said his new government would ratify all remaining UN human rights conventions.
Why did the 93-year-old prime minister promise to endorse ICERD, when he knew it could not be done in the first place? Was he ill-advised that ICERD would be a walk in the park, only to make a U-turn now? Or did he make the mistake by being too soft on racist like Zahid and extremist such as Hadi? His flip-flopping goes to confirm that Malaysia is indeed one of the most racist countries in the world.
Exactly what message Mahathir is trying to send to the opposition camp now that he decided not to ratify ICERD? The message is loud and clear – the racism, extremism and bigotry have won. The mighty Mahathir can actually be brought down to his knees by organizing a rally involving thousands of Malay Muslims using a fake propaganda that the non-Muslims are about to steal their rights and privileges.
Like it or not, Mahathir should be ashamed of himself for surrendering without giving a fight at all. Even after he repeatedly announced his government will not ratify the ICERD, it didn’t stop the Zahid Hamidi or Hadi Awang from going ahead with the mega rally. On the contrary, Mahathir’s pussyfooting has emboldened the racists and extremists to stir up racial and religion sentiments even more.
Taking advantage of Mahathir’s Achilles Heel, a new coalition – “Gabungan 3” – headed by Raggie Jessy, a blogger known for his controversial Third Force blog has announced its intention to join forces with extremist and racist Malay groups such as UMNO and PAS to destroy “DAP-Chinese” – giving speeches threatening a May 13-style riot against DAP supporters.
Mr. Raggie’s adviser, Azwanddin Hamzah, obviously challenging the authorities and the government when he said – “I long for May 13 (bloody racial riot). If we have to sharpen the parang (machete), we have to do it. If we have to sharpen the Keris (Malay dagger), we have to do it. If you record this, show it to DAP. If you are insolent, we Malays can be more insolent.”
Heck, perhaps inspired by the success of UMNO and PAS rally in intimidating Mahathir administration, even the notorious Big Blue Taxi founder, Shamsubahrin Ismail, has incited over 100 taxi associations across the country to hold a mass demonstration on Dec 19 over Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook’s alleged failure to address cabbies’ concerns with regard to e-hailing services.
Mahathir administration must understand that the rule of law is only as effective as the authorities who enforce it and the crooks who play by the rule of the game. But neither the authorities nor the crooks give a damn about the rule of law. The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chooses to give special privileges to big crooks such as Najib Razak and Zahid Hamidi.
Unlike other second-tier crooks such as former FELDA Chairman Mohd Isa Samad Abdul Samad or even Intelligence Chief Hasanah Abdul Hamid, Najib was allowed to wear thousand dollars Armani suit while Zahid was allowed his expensive batik attire, when they should be made to wear the orange lock-up suit.
Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor, along with Zahid Hamidi were also not handcuffed. Adding insult to injury, the court also granted all the crooks’ request for their bail to be paid in instalments, setting a very bad precedent for future crooks. Days ago, Najib didn’t even care to be in the dock, a huge embarrassment to the new government and the judiciary system.
But to blame Mahathir alone is quite unfair. His own son, Kedah Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) Mukhriz Mahathir, and Cabinet Minister Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman had expressed reservations about ICERD. Even PM-in-waiting Anwar Ibrahim showed his cowardice – only bitching that UMNO and PAS were “naughty” to go ahead with anti-ICERD rally, when he should have condemned racism and extremism.
Still, Mahathir’s lieutenant, Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, should be sacked for dragging his feet in firing Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohamad Fuzi Harun, one of 17,000 political appointees of the previous Najib regime. Why “suicide bombers” such as Zahid Hamidi, Hadi Awang, blogger Raggie Jessy (real-name: Ragvinder Singh Jess) and Azwanddin Hamzah have not been arrested until today?
Does the government of Mahathir wish to see bloodshed before they realize the racists and extremists actually mean business? Sure, 90% of officers in the Royal Malaysia Police are extremely corrupt. But if there isn’t any clean police officer at all, isn’t it better to appoint a new pro-Pakatan Harapan police chief instead of relying on an existing pro-Barisan Nasional police chief?
What can the Mahathir government do if the police force, and even the military force for that matter, chooses to sit and watch with popcorn and Coke when the UMNO and PAS radicalized supporters start terrorizing the ethnic Chinese and non-Muslims? If Mahathir dares not even act against terrorists like Zahid Hamidi or Hadi Awang, why even talk about new Malaysia and making the country a tiger again?

Tun Mahathir knows how bad the situation is but may be he thought he got the Malays who voted for him will always support change and become Malaysia Baru. He probably did not realise how gullable the Malays are and in the name of Islam they can do anything and blame the Chinese and Indians.
In my view when there was sniff of the intentions of 8 Dec Rally was realised, Tun Mahathir should discussed the consequences of riot and planned a strategy. The Agung to announce to the Malays that he has passed a royal decree that there would be no gathering on the 8th Dec and then given Tun Mahathir to take a stern action by arresting without bail using the anti-terrorist law and lock them up indefinitely without preveledges, or mail. You will also be banned from politics forever.
The next step is seriously proceed MACC proceedings and every suspect will have to step down from office or be on house arrest until trials. All BN sympathisers in high office will have decide quickly if they are ready to serve the PH govt. or risk being dropped out of office for not doing their duty.
Tun Mahathir has many enemies but has become the Ironman he was. For al we know he is a wiaer and older tiger ready to pounce.
Tun M is either too old too slow and too weak to occupy the PM office OR he is pushing his best game to a new height. Tun M and his PH government appear helplessly bullied, bruised and to be burried by the combined force of established and new extremists . I tend to agree with Lee Lee that Tun shall have catches from the sea and expectedly some from his own pond too when his nett is lifted. I am still puzzling what does it mean naughty when clear declarations have been made that May 13 of 1969 will be made to look like a mere child play and parang and Kris were sharpen for the expressly mentioned DAP Chinese blood.

Malays are the original ‘owners’ of Malaysia and Singapore, Chinese were ‘invited’ during Ming dynasty 600 years ago to help manage the lands and trades with the Europeans.
The so-called indians are actually Rohingya descents brought in to Malaysia Singapore Indonesia etc 150 years ago by the British to create social disorders in those regions, the ONLY ‘function’, so that the Brits could control the tea-trades and other important commercial activities.
Every indian man we see today in Malaysia Singapore Indonesia SE Asia etc, be it lawyers, doctors, politicians, IT (indian thieves) etc, is of Rohingya descents, still perform the same ‘function’ today as 150 years ago: to create social disorders, break up political groups of others, poison the young minds through schools and univeristies, and even hospitals, families etc, along with controlling the news media as a tool to achieve these goals.
Malays should still be considered as the sole owners of Malaysia and Singapore, Chinese the second majority group, Westerners considered as ‘guest’. And thus the only and least desired minority group in this region is the Rohingyas, or so-called indians, who always stir up wars among the Malays and Chinese and Europeans.
So folks, stay clear from these Rohingyas if you are aware what they, especially the male Rohingyas (or so-called indian men), ill-treat their women and kids. They are bad lucks to every country that accepts them.

Do not underestimate the old man in his political astuteness. Throughout our lives during his tenure comes hell fire , he has never in one moment bother to turn around and run. He may have lost the battle but not the silly war and I can bet cha somemthing is cooking.He practise Sun Tze in a very defining moment to retrace two steps backward and have a breather before advancing with no mercy triumph. It is more fearful and damning than those who offer the threats of May 13th. All those racist and crooks disguised as champion of Malay extremist will not lift an eyelid from the old man. He thrives on their foolish aggresiveness. Believe me, all the battle hardened wrinkles on his face are the testimonial of war maps that he has planned and won !!.
