On the same day Fatboy Kim Jong-un fired a missile over Japan powerful enough to strike U.S. military base Guam, Britain is being hit by yet another terror attack. An explosion at London Tube station during Friday morning’s rush hour has so far injured 23 people. The blast sent a “fireball” and a “wall of flame” through a District line service in west London.

Passengers on board a train heading into the capital fled as fire engulfed a carriage at Parsons Green underground station in West London after the explosion at 8.20 a.m. Some suffered burns while others were injured in a stampede to escape. BBC presenter Sophie Raworth who was on the train said she saw a woman taken to ambulance with burns “from top to toe”.

The terror attack is now known as “bucket bomber” after pictures and video posted on social media showed a flaming bucket – which appeared to have wires coming from it – inside a Lidl carrier bag on the floor of a carriage. The device is believed to have not been fully or properly detonated and it is reported that it could have been set off on a timer.

According to experts, the improvised bucket bomb left on the Tube at Parsons Green bears the hallmarks of previous failed bombing attempts in the UK. Dr Lewis Herrington, a lecturer and terrorism expert at Loughborough University, said the use of a timer was “key”, saying – “A timing device is critical – if you look at all the other attacks, the Westminster attack, Khuram Butt, Salman Abedi, they all wanted to die.”

Nevertheless, supporters of ISIS rejoiced on social media – “Allahu Akbar!! Our lions are striking terror into the hearts of the kufr.” Although ISIS didn’t claim responsibility, or at least hasn’t yet, one of the supporters proclaimed the bucket bomb was a “trial run”, claiming another, even bigger attack was set to “rock London”.

A major manhunt for the bomber has been launched, with British police working with MI5 as they forensically examine the device. However, there’s an unconfirmed report that the security services have identified a suspect from CCTV. But if there’s one person who knows the identity of the terrorist(s), that guy is none other than President Donald Trump.

Trump has set tongues wagging when he tweeted that British intelligence were aware of the person who carried out the attack. His tweet reads – “Another attack in London by a loser terrorist. These are sick and demented people who were in the sights of Scotland Yard. Must be proactive!” – suggesting that the UK police didn’t do enough to stop the attack.

Furious, Scotland Yard has rubbished Donald Trump’s claim that the Parsons Green Tube bombers had been “in the sights” of police, calling it as “pure speculation”. The Metropolitan Police said the US president’s comments were “unhelpful”. However, going by UK’s past record of hiding information and playing dumb, especially if Muslims were involved, Trump could be proven to be right again.

After all, from where else did Trump get his information if not directly from the U.S. intelligence briefing after the terror attack? But his claim could potentially spark a fresh row over US-UK intelligence sharing arrangements which have already come under strain since he entered the White House. And it’s not hard to understand why Trump was so excited with the London Tube terror attack.

Whether it was due to luck or coincidence, there hasn’t been a terrorist attack on American soil since Donald Trump becoming the 45th President of the United States. Trump could be itching for a terror attack in the homeland of U.S., so that he could justify and bragged to the liberals and his critics that he was right all along to ban Muslims from entering the U.S.

Asked about the London terror attack by reporters outside the White House in Washington, President Trump said – “It’s a terrible thing. It just keeps going and going, and we have to be very smart, we have to be very, very tough. Perhaps we are not nearly tough enough. It’s just an absolutely terrible thing. In fact, I’m going to call the Prime Minister right now. We have to be tougher and we have to be smarter.”

UK’s pro-refugees and Muslims policy hasn’t stopped terror attacks. Friday’s incident in London marked the 5th major terrorist attack in Britain this year. Back in March, a man drove into pedestrians on London’s Westminster Bridge killing four, before stabbing a police officer to death outside Parliament. Two months later, a suicide bombing at a pop concert in Manchester killed 23 people.

Subsequently in June, a van and knife attack around London Bridge was followed by a van attack outside a London mosque. In May this year, British intelligence officers revealed that they have identified a staggering 23,000 jihadist extremists living in Britain as potential terrorist attackers. About 3,000 individuals from the group were under active monitoring as they were considered a real threat.

Those 3,000 individuals required 500 investigation operations being run by police and intelligence services. The 20,000 others have featured in previous inquiries and are categorised as posing a “residual risk”. The two terrorists who have struck in Britain this year – Salman Abedi, the Manchester bomber, and Khalid Masood, the Westminster killer – were in the pool of “former subjects of interest” to MI5.

The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, famously commented last September that the threat of terror attacks is part and parcel of living in a big city, has condemned the attack – “This was an attempt by evil and cowardly individuals to kill and disrupt our way of life.” British Prime Minister Theresa May had previously blamed the Internet instead for the country’s widespread terror attacks.
