Advertising and propaganda wizard Lim Kok Wing has reportedly ended his special mission as Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak’s public campaign coordinator. If it’s true, then this could easily be Mr Lim’s shortest contract job with the government, not to mention one with a huge failure, although we’re not sure if he would get paid in full.
The only success story that Lim could tell all and sundry was the better written English scripts, prepared for all pro-Najib paid bloggers to copy and paste into social media critical of the prime minister. Frankly, it was a disastrous from the start when the founder and president of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology took the job.
He shouldn’t have had persuaded Godfather Mahathir to stop his bashing on Emperor Najib, let alone threatened to demolish the former premier’s legacy. As a supposedly propagandist who possesses creative and psychology mindset, Lim should know that Mahathir was no pussy, whom could be told what not to do in a fierce political battlefield.
Nevertheless, it’s still too early to tell whether Mr Lim has really quit the government propaganda team, or merely pretended to do so in order to let Mahathir’s guard down. Heck, for all you know, he could be a mole planted inside Najib’s camp by Mahathir to gain advantage of the prime minister future campaigns.
But judging by how screw up minister Rahman Dahlan, who doubles as Najib’s strategic communications director, in cooking up low-budget silly stories on Lester’s confession about Sarawak Report’s 1MDB documents fabrication and the blocking of the whistleblower’s website, you don’t have to be an advertising scientist like Lim Kok Wing to quit.
Not only Najib administration lacks truely smart advisers like what Mahathir had during his glory days, there’re too many apple polishers and bootlickers fighting for the prime minister’s attention without much contributions, ideas and plans to rescue the emperor. We’re afraid that these empty vessels’ idiocy would create more troubles than solutions.
It would definately be a waste if the fun is cut short, just because Najib listens to dumbs who in turn drill more holes into the sinking ship. Just like the Greece’s bankruptcy, which is far from over even if billions of euros are pumped, Malaysia’s 1MDB debt carries some similarities. You’ve seen the comic about Greece financial crisis. Now, understand how the 1MDB’s RM42 billion crisis exploded, in naughty comic below (*grin*).
