Karpal Singh dies aged 74, while Nik Aziz dies at 84. Lee Kuan Yew is now 91-years-old but he’s very ill, and if one cares to look at a photo dated April 2014 between him and Sultan of Brunei, one cannot help but to express concern about a very thin Singapore’s first prime minister. It was exactly how thin Steve Jobs looked like, just months before the Apple Jedi passed away.
Of course, Karpal Singh has died in a tragic car accident, but assuming he’s still alive today, Karpal may not be able to beat another politician in the South East Asia in terms of youthfulness. Former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad may be 89 years of age, but he certainly looks much younger than that. Unless he lies about his actual age, Mahathir may have his Korean ginseng to thank for being in such a “good condition”.
For years, you have read and heard about the secrets to being young – from eating healthy to doing exercise and whatnot. Sure, Botox injections help too but that’s merely cosmetic cover-up, not natural youthful. Perhaps most politicians couldn’t stay youthful because they’ve too much to worry, such as how to keep their ill-gotten fortune secret (*grin*). Otherwise, being youthful could be a very simple task.
World’s legendary investor, Warren Buffett, may have the answer for people who wish to stay young. If you do not fancy Korean ginseng like Mahathir, perhaps 84-year-old Warren could offer a different set of menu which you love. As it turns out, the billionaire diet consists of at least five Cokes a day. So, it’s not true that you’ll die young or lost your legs due to diabetes for drinking too much Cokes.
Of course, that could be a truck load of bullshit considering Buffett’s company – Berkshire Hathaway – actually owns 9% or US$16 billion in Coca-Cola. But the billionaire explained that if he eat 2700 calories a day, a quarter of that is Coca-Cola. He claims he consumes three Cokes during the day and two at night. When he’s at his desk at Berkshire Hathaway headquarters in Omaha, he drinks regular Coke; at home, he treats himself to Cherry Coke.
Not a fan of Coca-Cola? No problem. Warren Buffett loves potato too, but not the naturally baked potato. He loves U-T-Z potato sticks together with Coke for breakfast. The Oracle of Omaha admits he has talked to UTZ management, a Hanover, Pennsylvania-based snack maker, about potentially buying the company. Fortunately, he doesn’t take potato sticks every morning.
So, you may be forgiven for taking a bowl of chocolate chip ice cream as your breakfast, just like how the billionaire does. But isn’t Warren Buffett afraid of high-sugar and high-salt diet? Is he a greater liar than President Obama? Well, here’s his explanation – the lowest death rate is among 6-year-old kids, and since they love Coke, ice-cream and junk food (such as potato sticks), Buffett concluded it’s the safest course to take.
Now, before you rush to the nearest supermarket for Cokes, potato sticks, ice-creams and more junk food, you must understand that Buffett’s diet isn’t for everyone and no diet is for everyone. Perhaps it’s true that the best way to stay youthful is to listen to your body – it will tell you what it wants and needs. Perhaps the secret recipe is to simply don’t care and live life to the fullest – no rules. Perhaps Cokes do kill all types of viruses and diseases.

tongue in cheek article… some people say their grandmother/grandfather smoke but lived healthily and died at a ripe old age.. but science and statistic has shown that smoking does kill..
same with coke … Buffet may have a different metabolism but as you said, it may not be for everyone.. but for the majority of people, if they consume as what he allegedly does, then they’d be in for a lot of health problems notwithstanding the longevity.. 🙂
With Mahathir, i believe, its because he is very very careful with his diet, very small portions. caloric restriction is the only scientifically proven way to extend life..
