Attention Star Wars fans!!! Han Solo and Chewie are back – officially – after Disney released the second trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. By the way, the film will be in theatres December 18, 2015, just in case you’ve been living under a rock. The last time Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford, was seen on Star Wars film was a spectacular 32-years ago, in the 1983’s Return of the Jedi.
Obviously, this second trailer offers more hints and tips about the story onboard Star Wars’ latest franchise. An aged Han Solo is joined by Chewbacca, who amazingly looked like he hasn’t aged a day, at the end of the trailer saying – “Chewie, We’re Home”. The trailer opens on a desert in a planet known as “Jaku” (not Tatooine, mind you), which was shot at the present modern day Abu Dhabi.
A voice is heard with the following – “The force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. My sister has it.” The melted infamous mask of Darth Vader (Luke’s evil father) was shown, follows by a hooded unknown character with a robotic arm (clearly gotta be Skywalker) reaching for R2D2. As a lightsaber changing hands between two unseen characters, the voice finishes: “You have that power too”.
So, it seems in their attempt to release more Star Wars films in the future, and make more money in the process, Luke Skywalker’s child is being introduced in this film, as can be seen by the passing of the lightsaber. There’s a new villain with a new red lightsaber and new look Stormtroopers too. Excitedly, there’s also one unknown bad guy wearing a black version of the Stormtrooper armour.
Besides Chewbacca and R2D2, there’ll be a new rolling droid, BB-8, of which we’re willing to bet our last penny that its merchandise would be selling like hotcakes. In case you couldn’t wait another 8-months for this blockbuster film, here’s something to cheer you up. Twitter has released some emojis (three to be exact) for Star Wars fanatics to express their passion about Star Wars religion (*grin*).
Partnered with Disney and Lucasfilm, Twitter’s latest Star Wars emojis include the old iconics C3PO (#C3PO) and Stormtrooper (#Stormtrooper) and a new character BB-8 (#BB8). What you need to do is simple – post hashtags representing keywords associated with specific Star Wars characters and legacy themes will see a small emoji-like icon automatically appended to the end of the text of the tag. There would be more emojis to be released in a later stage.
