There’s a piece of good news for former Prime Minister Najib Razak. His soon-to-be life in prison might not be so boring and dull after all. Another potential inmate could be on his way to accompany him, allowing the crooks to share the good old days where they happily plunder and rape the national coffers to dry. It is certainly nice to be called “boss” even in the prison.

Bung Moktar Radin is expected to be charged by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Friday (May 3) under Section 17(a) and Section 28 (1) (c) of the MACC Act 2009. The Kinabatangan MP (Member of Parliament) is facing three corruption charges involving RM3 million. Interestingly, his wife, former actress Zizie Izette A Samad, will also be charged for abetting her husband.

If convicted, the notorious Bung Moktar could spend up to a maximum 20 years in jail and a fine of not less than five times the bribe amount, or RM10,000, whichever is higher. Both husband and wife were grilled for hours by MACC on Labour Day (May 1). As the sole representative of Barisan Nasional in Sabah, a conviction will wipe out the coalition presence in the state.

He is believed to have committed the corruptions during his reign as Felcra chairman. Formerly known as the Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority, the 1966 establishment was renamed as FELCRA (Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority) in 1997. Felcra is supposed to develop rural areas by helping people participate in economic activity to raise their standard of living.

Mr. Bung Moktar resigned on June 1, 2018 following Barisan Nasional’s defeat in the May 9 general election. Under his leadership, Felcra plunged into a scandal involving the Menara Felcra project. Felcra was supposed to get 12 floors of free office space for its new headquarters on the 4.26-acre (1.7ha) site at Jalan Semarak, in exchange for allowing the developer WZR Group to develop the land.

However, the plan to build a mixed development on the Felcra land failed spectacularly when the WZR Group failed to obtain bank loans to fund the project. Along with the 30-storey Felcra Tower, the RM1 billion worth of GDV (gross development value) project will also consist of 43-storey luxury serviced apartment, auditorium and banquet hall as well as a shopping mall cum business centre.

WZR Group then convinced Felcra to take over and bankroll the entire cost of the project, but with the same developer becoming the project contractor. Felcra chairperson Bung Moktar Radin insisted it was a good deal, despite the fact that developer WZR no longer needed to fund the project, suggesting that kickbacks could have been paid.

After the new Pakatan Harapan government took over Felcra, it was decided to sell the unfinished Menara Felcra and its related mixed development in Setapak, due to financial constraints. By Oct 2018, Felcra has already spent RM200 million on the mixed development project. An additional RM400 million is needed to finish the 50%-completed project.

Clearly, there were widespread of wastages, leakages and other abuses of public funds in Felcra under Bung Moktar. Heck, they even have Felcra FC (Football Club) which required an annual expenditure of RM8 million. New Chairman Mohd Nageeb Abdul Wahab has since closed down the unprofitable football club. But Mr. Moktar talents were not merely in corruption.

Controversial Kinabatangan MP - Bung Mokhtar Radin

Known for his controversial remarks and inflammatory behaviour, Bung Moktar had in 2008 mocked and insulted opposition “Tiger of Jelutong” Karpal Singh for not standing up – despite knowing that the latter was paralysed from the waist down due to a car accident. Mocking and insulting one’s disability seemed to be his favourite pastime.

A year earlier (2007), the sexist MP made the infamous “bocor (leakage)” remark – when he referred to an opposition MP Fong Po Kuan’s menstrual cycle during a debate about Parliament’s ceiling leaking which occurred due to corruptions involved in awarding the jobs to cronies of the arrogant and corrupt Barisan Nasional regime.

He also has a penchant for making lewd gestures with his hand at the Parliament sitting. Perhaps his obsession for sex was the reason that drove Bung Moktar to committing polygamy by taking a second wife, the same actress Zizie Ezette who is to be charged with abetting him in corruption this Friday, without the consent of a marriage registrar.

The Kinabatangan MP ultimately pleaded guilty in 2010 to committing polygamy without consent and was sentenced to one month imprisonment, but was ultimately released on bail, thanks to Kangaroo Court and corrupted judges during the Barisan Nasional era. He scored a magnificent goal for tweeting “Long Live Hitler” after Germany’s 7–1 win over Brazil in the semi-final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

His tweet of admiration for Hitler sparked controversy and hit the international news when Germany’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Holger Michael, condemned the tweet. The ambassador said – “While we appreciate the admiration for the German football team, we strongly reject the unacceptable allusion to the fascist regime of Adolf Hitler.”

Despite criticism, the arrogant four-terms MP Bung Moktar had not only refused to apologise, but fought back, saying – “I don’t know what’s wrong with people sometimes. Hitler is part of history and the German team fought like how he did.” But being ignorant of history and sexist were just some of his credentials. He was also a known racist.

Bung Moktar - MP Kinabatangan

Once, during a heated verbal exchange with Kapar MP Manivannan Govin, Mr. Moktar said – “Ini orang, kalau tak menjadi wakil rakyat, jadi perompak mungkin” (“If this person wasn’t elected a representative, he would probably be a robber”), a statement to suggest that ethnic Indian in general were born to be robbers by default.

The best part was when Bung Moktar, infamous for calling the ethnic Chinese to “balik tongsan” (go back to China), had to travel to China for his kidney transplant. Many Malaysians have taken to social media, happily mocking the racist and arrogant MP for having to seek treatment and medical help from China after looking down on the ethnic Chinese

Even after the collapsed of the Barisan Nasional government, the despicable Moktar launched his “Fuck you” missile at a minister of the new government, after the sexist, racist and corrupt Muslim MP was exposed of having visited a casino as photos of him gambling went viral. Perhaps the karma has finally caught up with this arrogant UMNO warlord. He should be dressed in MACC orange suit this Friday.

The Borneo monkey should start learning how to dig tunnel ( terowong) in order to dig a tunnel to escape to freedom when he is imprisoned.

A small minded man with a cerebral impairment. Could only aggrandize himself when Umno is around . Now he is lost in bewilderment with all hell broke loose on him. He thinks that all the cheating and plundering of Felcra coffers are God wedding gifts to him to enjoy his second marriage. Unbelievable that his constituency folks could just vote for a low uncouth character to represent them and be the Umno Chief in Sabah. His norm display of acting like a loud mouth tough talking thug was betrayed when he has to whimper that PH is “gunning” him down to win the Sandakan by election. Already begging for mercy and yet foolishly defiance with a conceited and arrogant make believe of self importance. He forgot that he is just speck of dirt that is to be dusted or blown away.
