Have you upgraded your old Windows to the latest Windows 10? You should have had reserved your Windows 10, free of charge, by now. If you’ve reserved the operating system but yet to upgrade your machine simply because you want to wait and see how others hit problems, then you’ve one heck of a smart fellow.
No rocket science here. Every software upgrade would have their fair share of issues, bugs and whatnot. Although Microsoft has started rolling out the much talked about Windows 10 since July 29, some users who have reserved their copy are yet to be able to get it. On this matter, you just have to wait, or go grab the “Windows 10 Download Tool” if you’re feeling impatient.
But there’s one thing you must do before you click that “Next” button to start the upgrade process. Well, actually there’re two things to do. The first thing is obviously a complete “full backup” of your present Windows into another media, preferably a portable hard disk. The second thing is superbly important if you do not wish to embarrass yourself.
While it’s absolutely normal to keep pornographic materials in your computer, the new Windows 10 doesn’t think so. In fact, Microsoft could deliberately design its software in order to humiliate you, cheekily speaking. Yes, Windows 10 would happily turn your porn collection into a slideshow and use them as a screensaver (*grin*).
The crisis was discovered by a guy who was kind enough to share his experience on Reddit. User FalloutBoS wrote – “Loaded up WIN 10 last night and left it on to do its thing … Woke up to wife asking why I set it to rotate all my porn images right on the desk top view. I have no idea how to shut that feature off and that computer is staying shut down until I do”.
Apparently, the user has saved the images to one of the default folders on his computer, from which the evil Windows 10 gladly pulled them and packed them nicely into a slideshow. So, if you’re a non-techie who has been saving all your private pictures in the “My Pictures” folder, we highly recommend that you move it elsewhere.
And what happened to that poor guy? Here’s what he has to say – “Don’t make my mistake … keep your private pictures out of My Pictures, no matter how deep you hide them in sub folders … My wife is very happy I admitted my mistake on this sub. She said I took my medicine and she now finds it quite funny. Ain’t love grand?”
What can you learn from the story? First, don’t keep your confidential materials in Windows’ default directories. Second, don’t leave your Windows upgrade behind unattended. Third, buy your partner a nice dinner and express your love before start any major upgrade. Fourth, admit your mistake and never lie because you need another bigger lie to cover the first lie.
