Among the 40 DAP Members of Parliament, Hannah Yeoh arguably is the most rewarded lawmaker. Not only Asia Mobility Technologies Sdn Bhd, owned by her husband, was awarded the Selangor’s Demand-Responsive Transit (DRT) controversial billion-ringgit project, but she also received a promotion as the Federal Territories Minister – even though her performance as Minister of Youth and Sports was average at best.
Naturally, she has every reason to lick the hand that feeds her. Having recently praised the clueless and incompetent Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution, calling the backdoor minister the best and most compassionate Home Minister, Hannah appears to have upgraded her level in the game by sucking up to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The problem is her bootlicking is overkill.
Yeoh Tseow Suan shamelessly praised Anwar’s leadership at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bukit Kiara permanent housing project in Kuala Lumpur. In return, the Premier acknowledged and praised Hannah for pushing for a resolution. Anwar also hailed the Bukit Kiara longhouse redevelopment as “historic”, saying it should serve as a model for how the country ought to be governed.
Then, came the comical part. As usual, the PM began his self-praised yapping – highlighting how the 98 families had waited more than four decades (44 years to be exact) for permanent housing, navigating a long and complex legal process. “This is not a small project in terms of its historical impact. Urban poor communities like this rarely succeed in defending their rights, especially when facing development pressures,” – he bragged.
Did both bootlicker Hannah and narcissist Anwar realize that after deducting 28 years Anwar was left in the political wilderness screaming “Reformasi” till foaming at the mouth, Mr Anwar was actually part of the previous Barisan Nasional ruling government for the remaining 16 years? Yes, 1982, the year the 98 families began waiting for their homes was also the same year Anwar Ibrahim officially joined UMNO.
In fact, Anwar held various ministerial portfolios, including Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Minister of Agriculture, and Minister of Education from 1983 to 1991. Beginning in 1991, he was appointed the powerful Minister of Finance under Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. He became Deputy Prime Minister from 1993 until September 1998, when he was sacked for sodomy and corruption.
So, exactly what was then-Deputy PM Anwar doing to help the Bukit Kiara longhouse people between 1993 and 1998, besides playing marbles, counting money, bullying Chinese, and promoting cronyism and nepotism? The con artist talked as if he had just discovered human civilization when he lectured that the country must change policies to prioritise the people, humanity, compassion, and shared responsibility.
Trying to claim credit now when he could clearly help the longhouse people 33 years ago speaks volumes about the chameleon’s hypocrisy, lies, inconsistencies, contradictions, and desperation. IfAnwar indeed cares about the people, why didn’t his Madani order the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to drop its appeal to reinstate the proposed Taman Rimba Kiara development project in the first place?
Under Mahathir-led Pakatan Harapan government (May 2018 – February 2020) and Anwar-led Madani Unity Government since November 2022, DBKL could be instructed to scrap the development of luxury service apartments – even though the proposed project was first introduced during Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor’s tenure as Federal Territories Minister in 2016.
Yet, the notorious corrupt DBKL was allowed to run its “business empire” like a drug cartel. Worse, Zaliha Mustafa, a senior member of Anwar’s People’s Justice Party (PKR), was appointed as Federal Territories Minister since December 2023 until a cabinet reshuffle in December 2025 with a job scope to grant pardon for crooked Najib Razak instead of fixing the long overdue Bukit Kiara problems.
Hannah and Anwar can praise each other till the kingdom comes. But people are not stupid and their intelligence should not be insulted as they can see how the Prime Minister could “suddenly solve” the 44-year problem – as claimed by Hannah Yeoh – only when the 16th General Election is around the corner. Yeoh also can suck Anwar’s balls till the cows come home.
However, for a Christian like Yeoh to pray for a racist, hypocrite and corrupt prime minister like Anwar to return to power because power-hungry Yeoh thinks Anwar deserves a second term just by using the housing project for Bukit Kiara longhouse residents as an excuse is not only an insult to Christianity and ethnic Chinese, but is also a disgraceful scam, deception, and gimmick.
Yeoh has taken apple polishing to a new level – out of touch with the reality on the ground as she tries to secure her ministership for the second term, easily beating Democratic Action Party (DAP) chief Anthony Loke in the “Anwar-praising” contest. It was the Federal Court decision in April 2023 denying DBKL’s appeal to reinstate the project – not PM Anwar – that actually helped the 98 families, mind you.
Before the arrogant, tone-deaf, and clueless Yeoh blindly rains more praises on Anwar, who is set to cowardly run away from his Tambun constituency to avoid backlash from angry voters in the next national polls, she should realize that her own Segambut parliamentary seat won with almost 60,000 majority in the last election is not a guarantee of another landslide victory.
Where was Yeoh when her buddies in the United Malays National Organization (UMNO) unleashed a racist mobster – UMNO Youth Chief Akmal Saleh – to terrorize the Chinese business community? Did she conveniently forget how her husband’s ethnicity was insulted when her favourite Prime Minister happily bullied a female Indian student in August 2023?
To refresh her memory, during a dialogue session at Kolej Matrikulasi Penang a student of Indian ethnicity asked Anwar when the discriminatory “quota system” would be abolished and replaced by a meritocracy system. The PM rudely interrupted the student before criticizing her for asking a sensitive question.He even admitted thatabolishing the quota entirely would cause his government to lose all elections.
Has Hannah, trying to project her image as more Malay than the Malays, also forgotten how Anwar – playing race and religion cards in desperation for Malay votes – had purposely and provocatively declared “Victory” after bulldozing the construction of “Madani Mosque” in Kuala Lumpur? To make way for the mosque, the 130-year-old Dewi Sri Pathrakaliamman temple was forced to be relocated some 50-metre away.
Heck, the Premier had even openly admitted his racism and discrimination when he mocked and ridiculed the Indian community – don’t be “angry or jealous” about programmes his Madani launched specifically for the Bumiputeras. Yet, despite the continued marginalization of Malaysian Indians, Anwar has the cheek to tell people at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Bukit Kiara housing project to reject race-based politics.
Where was apple polisher Yeoh when ex-PM Najib Razak’s 12-year jail sentence was halved and RM210 million fines were given a 75% discount? Does she fully support Anwar’spardon for the crook despite Najib’s role in stealing billions of dollars belonging to the people in the 1MDB scandal? Her silence screams double standards, hypocrisy and treachery.
And it definitely screams betrayal when DAP leaders, who once perceived as fearless and outspoken against corruption, racism, extremism and injustice during the era of Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh, have now reduced to a church mouse – too terrified to even express its displeasure over crooked Najib Razak’s discounted jail sentence and dropping of corruption charges against UMNO crooks as well as Anwar’s cronies.
Let’s forget about reforms swept under the carpet once fake reformist Anwar became the 10th Prime Minister in November 2022. It’s not an exaggeration to suggest that Hannah Yeoh is a traitor for pushing Anwar for a second term even after the PM created economic havoc such as new taxes, e-invoice system, delayed tax refunds, scrapping fuel subsidies, escalating cost of living, corporate mafia scandal, and whatnot.
Her integrity and cowardice speak for itself when she, as then-Youth and Sports Minister, evaded responsibility in the humiliating Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) scandalover falsified ancestry documents involving seven “heritage players”. Like Anwar, who feared offending the Royal House from the southern state behind the FAM-FIFA fraud scandal, Yeoh had refused to take any action against FAM.
Worse, she kept her silence and pretended nothing had happened when Anwar cracked down on Hindu temples while the Selangor Chief Minister cracked down on pig farms. Hannah continued to play dumb even after the Selangor state government’s 2025 planning guidelines said non-Muslim houses of worship must not be taller than any mosque was exposed recently.
For the Segambut MP to blow Anwar’s trumpet, insisting that the PM deserves another term when he obviously does not, could only mean one thing – a desperate situation. Her political stunt could backfire, doing more harm than good by praising the Premier. Hannah Yeoh and Anthony Loke’s obsession with Anwar’s second term is the same as UMNO’s obsession with Najib – before Barisan Nasional lost power in May 2018.
