Russia is frustrated because the Syrian War has ended and the Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) was supposed to be eliminated ages ago. Somehow, the annoying terrorists refuse to fade away, and Kremlin knew the reason. The Russian has accused the U.S. forces of providing intelligence to the Daesh Takfiri terrorists in eastern Syria, accusing Washington of “flirting” with the terrorist group.

Major General Igor Konashenkov, a spokesman for Russia’s Defense Ministry, said yesterday – “The main obstacle to completing the defeat of Islamic State (Daesh) in Syria is not the military capability of the terrorists but the support for them, and flirtation with them, by the United States.

Konashenkov claimed that the U.S. has provided support for ISIS after a group of Syrian forces came under a series of attacks by Daesh in the province of Dayr al-Zawr, where Syria is trying to push the terrorists out of their last strongholds in the region. But where is the proof that American under Trump administration has been supporting terrorism – secretly?

Apparently, Konashenkov said Daesh had the precise coordinates of the Syrian forces before the attack and that such information could only have been obtained through aerial reconnaissance. And since the Islamic State doesn’t possess air force capability, and it didn’t come from Russia, such information must have come from the U.S. military intelligence.

The Russian general also revealed that the attacks on the Syrian government forces had come from an area near the border with Jordan where the US maintains a military mission. He warned – “If the United States views such operations as unforeseen ‘coincidences,’ then the Russian air force in Syria is prepared to begin the complete destruction of all such ‘coincidences’ in the zones under their control.”

About 2 weeks ago, Russian Defence Ministry exposed on it’s Facebook page an aerial footage of the Daesh positions north of Syria’s city of Deir ez-Zor, showing U.S. involvement – “The aerial photographs, taken on September 8-12, 2017 in the areas of Daesh troops’ deployment, detected a big number of US Hummer armoured vehicles, used by the US Army’s special forces.”

Russia Footage - US Flirting and Working with Daesh ISIS

Here’s how the Russian concluded that the U.S. was working hand in glove with ISIS – “Despite the strongholds of the U.S. armed forces being located where Daesh militants are currently deployed, there are not even signs of the organization of a battle outpost. This shows that all the US servicemen who are currently there, feel completely safe in the areas under the terrorists control.” That’s right, it was like the U.S. soldiers and the ISIS militants were buddies there.

Pentagon, of course, has denied that the U.S.-coalition is working with the Daesh terrorists in Syria. It doesn’t matter to the Russian anyway, because Moscow wasn’t interested in a “tai-chi” game with Washington. Therefore, 1 day after Moscow made the accusation against Washington, they have made their move – by bombing the terrorists to pieces.

Armed with 2 submarines, the Russians have just fired Kalibr cruise missiles from the Mediterranean, hitting terrorist targets in the city of Mayadin in Syria with 10 of the deadly missiles. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the strikes were to support Syrian troops waging ground offensive in Deir-ez-Zor province.

Reporters were told by General Igor Konashenkov on Thursday that the 2 submarines have launched 10 Kalibr missiles when patrolling the Mediterranean. Before the missile strikes, Russian surveillance detected ISIS targets in Deir-ez-Zor province – including command centers, large ammunition depots and hangars housing terrorists’ armoured vehicles.

The submarines – “Veliky Novgorod” and “Kolpino” – from the Black Sea Fleet were in submerged position when they launched the 10 cruise missiles, which Russia has previously claimed more powerful and accurate than U.S. Tomahawks. General Igor Konashenkov confirms that all assigned targets have been successfully destroyed as a result of the Kalibr strike.

Both Russian submarines were the same subs which fired 7 Kalibr cruise missiles against ISIS targets in Syria last month (September 14) – about 500-650 kilometres away in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea. Russia has been helping Syria in the fight against terrorists since September 30, 2015, at the invitation of President Bashar Assad.

Russian Project Project 636 - Varshavyanka-class diesel-electric submarines - Floating

On September 5, the Syrian Army backed by the Russian Aerospace Forces removed the 3-year-long blockade of Deir ez-Zor. However, the fact that Russian Navy has been approached to neutralize the same area again now goes to show that the ISIS has indeed been getting helps from a powerful secret friend – obviously the U.S. – as proven by the Russia.

Known as the ghost ships, “Veliky Novgorod” and “Kolpino” are Varshavyanka-class diesel-electric submarines with advanced stealth technology which joined the Russian Black Sea Fleet in October and November respectively last year (2016). Both were part of 6 submarines ordered by the Russian Navy in a project called “Project 636.6”.

Kalibr cruise missiles (NATO codename: “Sizzler”) are Project 636.6’s main weapon. In the nose section the Varshavyanka has six 533-mm torpedo tubes. The standard set of ammunition consists of 8 surface-to-air missiles and 18 torpedoes or 24 mines and Kalibr-PL cruise missiles – capable of effectively hitting targets about 2,600 kilometres away.

Joining their sisters – Novorossiysk, Rostov-on-Don, Stary Oskol and the Krasnodar – the project was to deliver improved version of Kilo-class attack submarines that features advanced stealth technology, extended combat range and the ability to strike land, surface and underwater targets. They are mainly intended for anti-shipping and anti-submarine operations in relatively shallow waters.

Costing US$200-250 million a pop, the Varshavyanka-class submarines, carrying crews of 52, have a top underwater speed of 20 knots and a cruising range of 400 miles (electric propulsion), with the ability to patrol for 45 days. The submarines could snorkel up to 7,500 miles (12,000 kilometres).

Both “Veliky Novgorod” and “Kolpino” were sent to Mediterranean Sea about 2 months ago, replacing the Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don submarines (also part of the Project 636.6, of which the NATO’s military refers to as the “black holes” in the ocean) that have returned to their Black Sea base after a deployment to Syria.
